A pioneer of the practical business education model, Lake Forest Graduate School of Management (LFGSM) was originally founded through a partnership of leading Chicago area businesses. To this day, providing graduate business education to professionals is all they do. As a not-for-profit graduate school of business, they operate as a business. They pride themselves on high performance, yet their employee-centric culture and unwavering commitment to customer intimacy sets them apart from other business schools in the Chicago area.

Challenges

  • Maximize the $5,500.00 budget at a time when more than ever, guests make sure to maximize their investment (admission)
  • Provide delicious and plentiful food (can't run out!) presented beautifully and attended to by efficient and personable servers
  • Earn the business and develop a long-term strategic relationship

Solution

VIP Reception for 50 Guests
Budget: $1,500
An assortment of hot and cold appetizers was provided, along with wine and soft drinks. The ambiance of a neighboring office building's lobby, with its chic décor and lounge furniture, made for a perfect low-cost event space. Candle embellishments transitioned the mood from daylight to twilight.

Future Forum 2010 Networking Reception for 300 Guests
Budget: 4,000
An assortment of hot and cold appetizers and finger desserts were provided in the Student Commons area of LFGSM. To create an appealing presentation, our production crew used pretty platters, serving pieces and small tufts of greenery; a simple buffet centerpiece was created using in-house inventory.

In order to ensure the VIP's were treated as VIPs', we were careful not to duplicate the menus. A "heavy" appetizer concept was used. Selections were chosen for their "stick to your ribs" reputation while being sure to provide a variety of balanced savory, vegetarian and sweet items.

Results

An event for Lake Forest Graduate School of Management came with a limited budget that smacked of "we need a big bang for the buck!" Utilizing our diverse menu with multiple price points, we were able to produce two events for 350 guests, each with their own unique menu. The parallels of our customer intimate business models created the foundation for a solid business partnership between LFGSM and Tasty.

The Lake Forest Graduate School of Management event was deemed as great success, as it was awarded the 2010 NICE Best Catered Off Premise Event under $10,000!
